Texas Secondary Reading (TX5)
In 1998 the State of Texas replaced it's state wide Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS) ,with a new set of curriculum and testing standards (known as Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, or TEKS) and a new exam, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, or TAKS. EducAide is pleased to serve our Texas customers with TEKS-aligned updates and new modules. The first of these new modules is TX5.
The TX5 database module adds to our growing list of modules for Texas educators. However, TX5 and our another new module, NY2, provide secondary Reading and Language Arts materials that teachers all over the U.S. will appreciate.
TX5 contains questions written for 34 short reading passages. In keeping with the expectations of the TEKS curriculum, the passages are written in an expository style. Many passages require students to compare smaller writing samples within the passage. The items in this module include several writing prompts.
