Select from the View menu to open this view.
Basic View displays thumbnails of the problems in your document. In Basic View, you can step forward and backward through the problems in your document using the Next and Previous buttons in the lower right corner of the window. You can also add blank problems at your current location within the document, or at the end of the document, using the New Problem button.

The button is the small blue + sign at the bottom right of the view. Click the small arrow to the right of the Add button to bring up a dropdown menu that lets you choose where you want to add a new, blank problem. Clicking the Add button itself will perform the default add operation (adding a new problem to the end of the current part).
The Add button can also be used to insert a copy, or clone, of the current problem. Once the clone is added, edit it as you would any other problem.
Editing problems in Basic View is done with the Visual Editor. To bring up the Visual Editor, select the problem you want to edit from the document tree, then choose Edit > Selected Problem, or right-click the problem thumbnail or the problem node in the Document Tree and choose from the shortcut menu. To use the keyboard shortcut to edit a problem, select the problem you want to edit, then press Ctrl+E.
The Visual Editor works like a word processor and lets you perform many basic editing tasks without requiring you to learn the TeX markup language. For more information on how to use the Visual Editor, see the Visual Editor page.
