Inserts Page

This command brings up the Inserts layout options page. The two sections let you set how you want Passages and Figures to be laid out.

As with all other options in the second group of the Format Menu, certain options on this page may be disabled, depending on whether or not the settings are to be applied to the current Part/Problem, or the entire document.

Passages

Columns

Set the number of columns the Passage should be laid out in. It's recommended you only use 3 or 4 columns when your document is set to Landscape orientation.

Number paragraphs

Select this option to draw paragraph numbers in the top left margin of each paragraph in a Passage.

Indent first line of paragraphs

Select this option to indent the first line of each paragraph in a Passage.

Reserve space on right

Select this option to reserve space on the right of a passage for students to write notes.

Insert page break after

Select this option to insert a page break after the end of a passage, forcing problems following the passage to start on a new page.

Leaving this otpion deselected will cause problems to appear on the last page of the passage (immediately after the end of the passage).

Figures

Position

Set where you want a figure to be drawn, relative to its containing problem. The available positions are:

Scaling

Set the size of a figure, relative to its original size (e.g., set the scaling to 200% to double the size of the figure, or set the scaling to 50% to halve its size).

Hide repeated figures

Select this option if you want to hide a figure that appears in the problem before it.

Intros

Position

Set where you want an intro to appear, relative to its containing problem. The available positions are:
