The Problem Tab Problem Tab
The Problem Tab allows you to view and edit the content of your problem, as well as any inserts such as Intros, Multiple Choice Blocks, Math Inserts, etc.
The Answer Tab Answer Tab
Use the Answer tab to record the correct answer for open-ended questions. The information entered in the Answer field will only be displayed on the answer key.
The XFigure Tab XFigure Tab
The XFigure Tab allows you to insert figures as an XFigure. XFigures are figures that are treated as problem elements, rather than in-line figures. XFigures can be formatted using the Format menu. For more information about inserting figures and XFigures, see the Working with Figures page.
The Comments Tab Comments Tab
The Comments Tab allows you to add and edit comments for a problem. You can choose to display comments on your printed documents in the Format menu.
Formatting Format Buttons Bold, Italic, Underline, Superscript, Subscript, and Font Size
These buttons control the style and size of a selected block of text. Highlight the text you want to format, then click one of these buttons to restyle or resize the text.
Alignment Alignment Buttons Left, Center, Right, Justified, Indent, Outdent
These buttons control the alignment and indentation of a paragraph of text. Place the cursor anywhere in the paragraph you want to modify, then click one of these buttons to change that paragraph's alignment or indentation.
Lists Lists Buttons

This menu toggles lists. To create a list, type a few list entries, each in their own paragraph. Select the paragraphs, then choose one of the list options from the menu. You can also create answer blocks for multiple choice items by selecting your list of answer choices and selecting Multiple Choice Block from the Lists menu.

A Multiple Choice Block is a special type of list. Acces will format your choices according to the format options you selected in the Format > Multiple Choice menu and surround your answer block with a yellow border. right-click to mark the correct answer.

Inserts Alignment Buttons Table, Figure, Intro, Math, TeX, Symbol

These buttons allow you to insert elements into your problem.

Insert Table
The Insert Table button Insert Tableopens the Table Properties dialog, where you may choose how to format your table:

The Layout tab allows you to set the number of rows and columns, the position of the table, and the alignment and width of the columns.
Table Properties Borders
The Borders tab allows you to set options for borders.
Table Properties Headers
The Headers/Labels tab allows you to set options for header cells and labels.
Insert Image
The Insert Image button Insert Imageopens the Figures Browser. Figures inserted via this method are inserted inline with the text of the problem and will have limited formatting options. For more control over the formatting of figures, consider using an XFigure.
Figures Browser

From the Figures Browser, you may open figures from the EducAide modules by double-clicking on EAS Content, then on the appropriate Content Group. The Figures Browser will display all of the figures in the Content Group. Double-click on the name of the figure to see an enlarged version of the figure. Click Insert to insert the figure into your problem.

Double-clicking the Group name will display the figures in that group


If you have your own figures stored in the User-created Content folder, double-click My Content from the top level of the Figures Browser to open those figures. Before using your own figures, you must first designate a folder for User-created Content. For more information, see the Preferences page and refer to Path Options.

Toggle Intro
The Toggle Intro button Toggle Intro inserts an Into your problem. The Intro will appear in a blue box when using the Visual Editor.
Insert Math
The Insert Math button Insert Math allows you to insert mathematical expressions so that Acces can format them correctly. Insert your mathematical expression inside the green box that appears in the Visual Editor when you click the Insert Math button.
Insert TeX
The Insert TeX button Insert TeX allows you to insert your own TeX code for advanced formatting options. Insert your TeX code in the red box that appears when you click the Insert TeX button.
Insert Symbol
The Insert Symbol button Insert Symbol opens the Character Palette to allow you to insert special symbols into your problem.
